Happy One Year!

October 12th, 2012 was the day The Big Green House officially became ours! This year has certainly gone by fast, but we have gotten so much done on the house! Even with the days of rain in the past three weeks or so, we’ve been making more and more progress!

Three weekends ago, when we had rain on a Saturday, we were able to (on Sunday, of course) install all three windows in our future laundry room. We also were able to prime and put up siding along one of the walls! So now it’s actually starting to look like a real room!

Randy (my father-in-law and our personal electrician) had been wiring our master suite like crazy before his (and Karen’s) 3-week vacation in Italy that began on Monday and things are looking great in that area.

Two weekends ago we began working on the roof! On Saturday, because there was no rain, we were able to start laying plywood. My dad was also able to cut out the holes for where our skylights will be going in both our bedroom and bath.

Finally, last weekend we laid out the waterproof membrane on the roof so we are basically waterproof back there! Well, the roof is at least- we still need to have siding up to actually make the room watertight.

So this weekend we are going to finish up the roof! We will shingle and finish the flashing on the skylights! Super exciting.
