This weekend was, again, incredibly productive! Jacob and I got a lot more drywall hung AND installed the new double-pane casement window in our nook. Randy also got electrical work done for our heated floors we’re going to be installing in the bathroom- super exciting!
As can be seen from the pictures, it looks like more work got done. So, why would the title of this post be “All Thumbs” then, hmm? Well, there was a little accident. After lunch I was cutting some drywall to finish wrapping the two 2x4s that hold up the big barn beam when my utility knife slipped and, well, I cut off a part of my thumb. It didn’t hurt too bad at the time and I didn’t have to go to the emergency room- so at least that is a plus! It did, however, terminate my day early and I didn’t nearly as much done as I would have liked.
Next weekend, and for every weekend from now on, I am going to wear a glove when cutting drywall. It’ll make it somewhat of a pain, but cutting off a part of my thumb is a pain too! Oh well- you live and you learn.
