Window Bench

We finally did it! After about 2 months of procrastination (mostly out of fear), Jacob and I got the cushions done for the window bench in our office. See- I had never done any kind of upholstering, cushion making (not even a pillow!), or know how to sew. This was daunting, to say the least. But with a lot of help (THANK YOU ALYSSA!) we got the cushions themselves put together last weekend. All that was left was to upholster- which we conquered this morning.

While it may not be as good as pros would do it, Jacob and I are pretty proud of ourselves on completing a project in such unknown territory (build a wall? Sure! Re-do plumbing? No big deal! Make and upholster cushions? Yikes!).

ah, beautiful!

It feels good to have one more thing done before the baby comes, especially because I plan on spending a lot of time in the office while at home with our little girl. It has great light and, now, a super comfy place to sit back, relax, and read a good book.

Who knows, maybe I’ll have time to read with a newborn? Ha!

  1. Very impressive!!!! Who knew you could accomplish the job so elegantly with a staple gun? I love this peaceful and light filled space you’ve created.
