This past weekend Jacob and I did something we NEVER d0- we took a break from working on the house. Kinda scary to do considering I am less than three weeks from my due date and our house still has a lot of work to be done on it, but we definitely needed the hiatus.
In lieu of working on the house, we had a mini babymoon! Jacob and I didn’t actually travel anywhere, but we did make little day trips and ate super tasty food that we didn’t have to prepare ourselves.
The first thing we did was going to the Petrified Forest in Calistoga- very tiny but super cool!
After that we headed into St. Helena and had a delicious lunch. The rest of the afternoon was spent hanging out at home with our boys, sitting outside and catching up on some (non work-related) reading. The next day, though, we headed back out for another adventure!
The boys had an absolute blast on the Sonoma Coast. We even got to let them off-leash for a bit after some people left and we had some beach to ourselves 🙂
We did do one thing that had to do with the house, but it was a fun thing and not on our to-do list! Check it out:
We bought and planted a Japanese Maple! It fits perfectly into its new little spot- getting enough light to live, but not too much as to scorch its sensitive leaves. Now whenever I look at this tree it will remind me of our babymoon and one of the best weekends I’ve ever had with Jacob!
